The sun is shining again meaning it is much easier to get out and exercise. In the colder months fitness can slip, especially when on a tight budget. Make the most of the dry warm weather by getting outdoors and working out for free.
Yoga in the Park
Take your smartphone, choose a good Yoga YouTube video and find a sunny spot in your local park. If you don’t want to do this alone, arrange to meet with friends and try Yoga together. It’s a great way to unwind, enjoy the weather, catch up with friends AND keep fit all in one.
Running is a great way to lose weight and gain strength, but sprinting can burn fat a lot faster. Sprinting also has many benefits beyond physical ones, such as providing stress relief and building perseverance and discipline.
If you have a bike then use it to take long weekend rides and burn off those boozy Friday night calories. Cycling is great for body and mind and is a fun alternative date idea whilst having all the benefits of a workout.
Outdoor HIIT workout
People like Joe Wicks (The Body Coach) have made HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) accessible for people of all workout levels. Do your 20 minute HIIT outside and sweat it out in the sunshine - Just make sure to wear sun protection!
A lot of parks around the country are getting a makeover, with free gym equipment. Find out where your nearest free outdoor gym is and you have no excuses not to workout when it’s free!
